Maternity Photography Session – Stavanger

I had a maternity photography session with this amazingly stunning mum to be, she look so beautiful that it is hard to believe that she is already a mum to 3 boys. I mean how do you do that, how do you keep yourself so fresh and beautiful when you are in your fourth pregnancy but also caring for three boys at home.

This year I have been busy with my personal life which means photography was put on a back burner and got give a lot less focus then usually. When you feel burnt out, at times it is hard to find the motivation and inspiration you need and you may feel that you are under performing. To me this session was simply magical, it did something to me and I can’t put my finger on. During the session I just felt at peace, I am not sure if it was how relaxed and comfortable my client seemed to be that gave a feel of serenity in every frame captured.

My client was in her last pregnancy, she wanted a keepsake from this pregnancy and feeling tired and worn out she wanted a little pick me up. Somehow I think she gave me more of a pick me up then I gave her, I felt so refreshed after the session and I felt a sense of accomplishment. I just could not wait to get home and start editing the photos and I loved every single moment of it and I could not wait to share the end result with my client. The client was really happy with the end result and I am so happy that she has let me share these with the rest of you.

A few weeks later when I visited the client in her home to photograph the new arrival, she showed me a stunning frame featuring 9 of the prints she ordered from me and it was a joy seeing the end product that she will proudly frame on her wall.

Noe & Zoe quirky fashion for kids

I am a believer in letting kids dress like kids and my girls wardrobe are full of girly clothes and I do avoid any outfits where I feel my children becomes adults or teenagers. They are kids and I do believe in letting them be kids.

I am a little baffled to be honest why I love kids fashion so much because reality is that I am so not into fashion and style when it comes to myself. I often wonder how it looks to others when they see me with my children dressed in unique clothes next to me wearing worn out jeans and a plain top. Every month I tell myself that I need to stop spending money on the kids and treat myself, I go out and look for some nice outfits yet end up with something for the kids instead. Maybe because the kids will always look adorable and I prefer for them to take the focus off me.

I was speaking to Mercia from Land of Small who informed me that she was getting a new brand this season and in addition to Atsuyo et Akiko that she would also introduce Noe & Zoe. As soon as I saw the cat leotard from Noe & Zoe I was sold, it was just so adorable especially the tale sticking up at the back. It quickly dropped in the shopping basket together with hairband, skirt and tights from Wovenplay.

The outfit arrived and my daughter also fell in love with it. It was a sunny day, too warm for tights but she could not resist the leather jacket that she fell in love with one day we were browsing H&M. The outfit is different to what you find on the high street and it is very playful which is what I love in children’s fashion.

One year old boy | Stavanger baby fotograf

I had the pleasure of meeting this adorable one year old for a little photoshoot. The weather this summer has not been great and the day prior we had thunder, lighting and heavy rain so I was delighted when I woke up to a warm and dry morning, perfect for a photo session in the woods with this one year old. In the boot of my car was another car, a fantastic red car and that was a hit with this little boy and he was quite happy to play with it whilst I took some photos. This little one year old is finding the balance on his feet and not quite yet walking, however I would not be surprised if he takes his first steps any day now. Sitting in the woods on a little rug the first thing he did was to grab that teddybear and give it a cuddle and I was delighted that I had the camera ready and got too capture this natural reaction to meeting a little cuddly bear in the woods.

There is something so adorable about on year olds, they are no longer babies nor are they children.  their little characters, tiny teeth starting to appear and just how content they are to explore.

Birthday girl | Stavanger lifestyle fotograf

Isn’t it amazing how fast time pass us by. My youngest has now turned six years old. Since her last birthday there has been a few milestones and events

  • Started a new nursery and established new friendships
  • Got enrolled for school, a visit to school to meet with her teacher and class.
  • Learnt how to ski and manage to run down a hill on her own.
  • Has started gymnastics and can now do a Cartwheel and a Bridge.
  • Just to mention a few…

By her next birthday I am pretty sure she will have lost her first tooth…

Looking back at the year I have seen a girl who have grown a lot, yet she is a petite girl. My little girl was so excite about the prospects of turning six. But when the day came, when we celebrated her sixth birthday she was convinced it was not her real birthday. It transpires that she did thought that by turning six she would grow big, in growing big she thought she was going to grow to the same hight as her friends. She was really surprised that she was still the same height and with that in mind she thought that she was still five, she could not believe how she could be “big” and a year older when she was still the same size. Somehow I struggle to come to terms with how fast life is passing us by, how big our girls are becoming and I can see that my girl regardless of how tall she is, is ready for the next chapter. I look forward to seeing her starting school and watching her learn how to read and write.

Prior to her birthday the two of us had a shopping trip to Barna i Gata to look for a party dress, a new outfit to mark her turning six. At the shop every dress I pulled from the rack got a big fat NO, and then she pulled out two dresses from I Love Gorgeous and her hear was set on the Cilla dress. She also picked some gorgeous pink shoes from I Love Gorgeous to match her outfit. The sun was shining on her birthday so we used the opportunity to go to a nearby field for some photos of her and her big sister to celebrate this event.

Her big sister is wearing the same outfit by Tutu Du Monde that you spotted my youngest wearing in my previous blog post. I love when we get clothes that both girls can wear.

25/52 Fun in the rain | Fotograf Sola

This weeks theme was Liquid, one liquid we have seen a lot of is Rain. I can not believe how much it has been raining and in Stavanger/ Sola I think someone has preset the heater on 11 degrees celsius. We have had the occasional lovely day, but they seem to be far and few between, after such a fantastic summer last year I do wonder if we used up a two year quota.

On the day in question, we had a mixture of the preset weather of rain and a little bit of sun. During a break from the rain I put on the garden hose to recreate the weather we have just seen too much of and asked my little one if she wanted to come out and play. She jumped into her bright yellow hunter, wearing a handme down dress after big sister and put up her butterfly umbrella.

The girls simply love the opportunity to play in water. Soaking wet she is laughing with delight.
