LIGHT
During the summer I used to sit at the computer and work away, the clock would tick past midnight and I would still see a sky with the colours of the rainbow. The sunset sky is just stunning displaying its beauty in blue, pink, yellow, purple. It is easy to forget time when the day never seem to end. However the flip side of the long and bright summer days is the dark and dull winter days. During the winter we keep chasing the daylight. At the moment the sun will rise between 9-10am and the sun will go down at around 4-5pm. On a dull day of rain, the day will feel like an early evening and the daylight will be very limited.
When you work from 8-4, catching the daylight becomes a challenge. It is near impossible to get a photo outside before it is too dark. My big girl was not feeling well one day so I was working from home and that meant that I got to pick up the little one from nursery across the road at 4pm and take her to the local field nearby to catch the last of the daylight as the sun was going down.
My little girl is a creative little soul who would spin around to show me how beautiful her dress is to the next minute dress as a little supergirl where she wants to save the world. Then she gets to the stage where she just wants to snuggle up. I picked the weekly picture of her all snuggled up in a patch work blanket that I had spotted at Mormor and Mio in Stavanger. It is a retro store in the colourful street where we often go when we are in town. My daughters loves a little cafe called Sjokoladepikene where they serve the best hot chocolate and gluten free cakes. On one of our trips to town this summer I spotted the patchwork blanket that I adored for sale, but I just could not pick between the 3 available so I left. However on our last trip to town I made the decision to go for it, buy one before I change my mind and I am so glad I did because without it I would not have managed to capture this adorable picture of my daughter as we  were chasing daylight. Some days I really struggle to get one good photo of my little one, because she is full of imagination, she is stubborn and like to do her own thing. However on this specific Tuesday afternoon she was AMAZING and I just got so many pictures that I will treasure. She is wearing one of her favourite dresses which she calls her Superhero dress and is by a British label

Beau Loves. This oversized dress was very popular and sold out in a matter of hours so we were lucky to get one. She is my little hero, and her powers is to break open hearts and fill them with love, her love for life is contagious. It was really cold outside so we were only out for 15-20 minutes and I just have to share a selection of images captured. I hope you can see why I had a hard time choosing which image to use this week.
