Bedroom fit for a princess part 1 | Stavanger Photographer

The countdown is on and we are crossing off  the days until we get a home of our own. We are making the most of our waiting time by ordering furniture’s and planning how to decorate.

The first two rooms to tackle is the girls bedrooms. We going for a clean and airy look in both rooms. The youngest is getting a pink and white room but the other room will be more of a grown up room and my daughter will have a bit of an impact in how it will be decorated and help buy the accessories but I guess it will be white with a sprinkle of bright colours.

So this blog post we are looking at my youngest bedroom…..

Below is the room we got to work with, It is a large attic room with plenty of space and a window letting in good light.
The first job we are doing is to strip all wallpaper, rip up floor and remove doors for painting.

Once we have stripped the room bare we will start putting it back together again.
Pinterest is a great source for inspiration and I frequently used it. On this occasion pinterest helped us plan this room and I was inspired by the images below.

Taking inspiration from these images we are looking at adding new backing paper and paint the walls and roof white, we are looking for a laminate floor that is as white as possible. We are putting up one feature wall and have ordered a gorgeous wallpaper from Pip Studio called Chinese rose pink wallpaper
We want to add a gorgeous pink bedding to match. Back in October I made my first bunting using fabrics from Tilda which was designed to match the inspiration I had pinned on my pinterest board and to match the gorgeous curtains that I fell in love with when I was pregnant with my baby girl and still love them equally as much now. It is from the Mamas and Papas, Made with Love range and this is true for both my girls. They are made with love.

My daughter is still using her cotbed with her sides off so we have been looking for a new bed and I found this bed in a local furniture store and fell in love, as did Molly when I showed it to her and we are planning to purchase this bed to add to her room.
To add some light we want to go down the route of a chandelier or similar to make the room fit for a princess. We will add some coat hooks for her beautiful dresses and dressing up outfits and we will also make a corner into her own little kitchen area.
We will scatter some rugs on the floor.

The question is how the room will turn out once we are done with it and we are all pretty excited.
